Agricultural Entomology

The Department of Agricultural Entomology was started in the year 2015. B.Sc.(Agri.) and B.Sc.(Hons.) Agriculture students were offered courses on Agricultural Entomology viz., fundamentals, economic entomology, pest management of field and horticultural crop pests. Sericulture Unit was established during the year 2015 in the SNI Block for offering the Experiential Learning course – Commercial Cocoon Production, and for offering entrepreneurship training. The focus of the agricultural entomology unit is not only insect pests, but also the beneficial arthropods found in the agro-ecosystem that contribute to ecosystem services such as biological control and pollination.

The department consists of

  • Agricultural Entomology
  • Plant Pathology
  • Plant Nematology
