National Cadet Corps
The National Cadet Corps is the youth wing of Armed Forces with its Headquarters at New Delhi, Delhi, India. It is open to school and college students on voluntary basis. National Cadet Corps is a Tri-Services Organization, comprising the Army, Navy and Air Wing, engaged in grooming the youth of the country into disciplined and patriotic citizens. The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, higher secondary, colleges and universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course.
The NCC Unit of JKKMCAS, TN Palayam, consists of 15 cadets. The cadets are trained as per the scheduled programmes.
National Service Scheme (NSS)
JKKMCAS NSS Cell aims at developing a sense of social and civic responsibility and utilizing their knowledge in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems. It induces everyone to selfless services.
Objectives
To understand the community in which they work Develop competence required for group-living and sharing of responsibilities to acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitudes. To develop capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters and Practice national integration and social harmony.
Motto
The Motto of NSS "Not Me but You” reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service.
The NSS unit in JKKMCAS is regularly organizing the following events:
- NSS camps are being arranged in the nearby villages for a week by the NSS volunteers of JKKMCAS.
- Campus cleaning
- Blood donation camp
- One student-one tree programme
- Parthenium eradication Awareness Prgramme/ Rally
- Vigilance awareness programs
